Principal Financial Controller 6 Month Fixed-term or Secondment

This is a leadership position that reports to the Chief Financial Officer and has a determining role in both the strategy and the management of the financial processes here at the Department. The role is responsible for financial accounting services provided by 14 staff, which includes six direct reports.

We are looking for someone who can provide the following:

  • Financial advice and analysis at the highest of levels
  • The kind of leadership that reflects our values
  • Direction and innovation in delivering financial services

We are seeking someone who will strive to improve financial services and meet the needs of the diverse range of business groups within this Department.

You will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the financial accountability related functions of DIA, providing decision-useful advice and reports and managing the Department's Treasury functions.

To be successful, you will have

  • Strong technical skills, including being a qualified CA
  • A keen interest and experience in process improvement
  • A collaborative communication style
  • Excellent personnel management skills
