Java Developer - 6 month CONTRACT (may well extend)

• $80 per hour to you
  
• ASAP start - no later than 1 April (and before that would be ideal)

* are you a skilled Java Developer with 2-3 years experience in Java development?
* are you able to talk to business users, understand their requirements, and accommodate those needs in your development work?
* do you have experience of working in an IT development team within a large organisation?
* and are you available to start a contract role no later than 1 April?

Yes? Then read on!

This major government agency has a large team of Java Developers. They are more than just Java Developers, though. They are more like Analyst Programmers, who talk to the business users of the systems they are working on to make sure that the programs they are writing are well designed to accommodate the needs of the users.

They need a Java Developer with this sort of background for a six month contract assignment, which may well extend.

To be considered you need to have:

* 2-3 years experience in Java development, including J2EE
* experience of working in a team of Java developers
* experience of working in a major organisation e.g. a bank, insurance company, government department, outsourcing provider or similar.

All of their systems are web-based and they use a wide variety of Java tools.

Skills in using tools such as JBoss, Tomcat or similar will give you an edge. That said, they aren't absolutely necessary.

What IS necessary is that you are someone who has good personal skills and thus can relate easily to people AND who can listen to customer requirements and apply them to your coding work.
