Certificate in Automotive Trades - includes the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Entry Skills)


Designed to provide the skills and knowledge required for students to gain core unit standards prior to seeking employment in the motor industry.

What will the programme cover?

This is a one year full-time programme that includes automotive electrical, automotive maintenance, engineering, fuel systems, exhaust systems, engine repairs, transmission systems, braking systems, steering and suspension. Students will attend classes three days a week and spend the other two days a week on work experience.


Employment options

Completion of this programme is preferred for gaining an apprenticeship or traineeship in the following industries:

• Automotive engineering

• Automotive machining

• Automotive electrical engineering

• Motorcycle engineering

• Fuel injection engineering

• Small engine servicing

• Power boat servicing

• Merchandising

• Other automotive related careers
