Certificate in Introductory Art Studies (Level 3)


Designed to introduce students to a range of artistic media, and leads on to the Certificate in Art Studies which enables students to continue building skills and knowledge in a range of artistic media allowing them to determine an area of focus for their artistic endeavours. Study is primarily on a part-time basis and is offered in a range of locations.

What will the programme cover?

Core modules:

• 3D studies

• Painting - acrylic

• Painting - mixed media

• Drawing

plus a range of electives.


Employment options

This is a useful qualification if you want to become a working artist producing work for sale, or want to work in galleries.


Further study options

The Certificate in Introductory Art Studies (Level 3) can lead students on to the Certificate in Art Studies (Level 4) and other Aoraki Polytechnic art programmes at Levels 5 and 6.
